The Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10 isn’t compatible with Windows Mixed Reality. Except for Windows Mixed Reality, customers can make these websites and software function correctly by installing the Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10. Some websites and software, such as Windows Store apps and Microsoft Office, use Windows Media-related files that are not included in the Windows 10 N edition.
Recent features such as Windows Mixed Reality, Cortana with voice, Windows Hello, Game DVR, and PDF viewing in the Microsoft Edge browser that rely on Windows Media files are not included in Windows 10 N. You must install additional software from Microsoft to have this communication functionality and to play or create audio CDs, media files, and video DVDs to stream music or to take and store pictures.
These include media-related technologies, such as Windows Media Player, and certain preinstalled media apps, such as Groove Music, Movies & TV, Voice Recorder, and Skype. This update provides support for media features in Windows 10 N.
